1. Look for a secure place to leave the vehicle (service lane, parking bay, roadside).

2. Activate the hazard lights.

3. Put on a safety vest.

  • Clear instructions are provided as to what to do at the scene of the accident. (We will call the police or the fire department if required.)

  • We will organise a tow-away service or free towing to the nearest MINI Service Partner.

  • Initial contact with your insurance and handling of allformalities.

  • Organisation of a replacement vehicle / free replacement vehicle for x days. 

  • Advice on alternative travel options.

ACCIDENT: WHAT TO DO?

1. Put on a safety vest.

2. Secure the scene of the accident. (Hazard warning lights, headlights on low beam, warning triangle).

3. Are there injured people? Call the rescue service: 112

4. Administer first aid.

5. Call MINI Accident Assistance: 0800 1234 5678* or establish contact using the MINI iDrive menu.

6. Look for a protected place. Do not leave the scene of the accident.

MINI MOBILITY PROGRAM.

Driving your MINI means being able to indulge in driving without any restrictions and enjoy full peace of mind. This applies even if your MINI happens to be out of action due to a breakdown. In this case, we have a comprehensive package of services in place to provide you with professional and expert support. It is your trusty companion for those unforeseen emergency situations – so that there is nothing to prevent you from quickly resuming your trip.

 

  • MINI Mobility Program FAQ
  • Who does the MINI Mobility Program apply to?

    Our MINI Mobility Program automatically applies to all new cars or a period of two years. After this, every time you have an oil change or maintenance work carried out by an approved/authorised MINI Service Partner, you extend the program by another 24 months (up to a maximum of five years).

  • Breakdown assistance on site.

    We organise breakdown assistance through an expert cooperation partner right away; the cost of this service is covered (up to a maximum of EUR 100). This also applies to tyre damage¹.

  • Tow-away service.

    If it is not possible to repair the damage on site, we cover the cost of towing the vehicle to the nearest MINI Service Partner.

  • Onward journey by taxi.

    If you require a taxi to continue your journey, we cover the cost of one or more taxi rides up to EUR 65.

  • Hotel accommodation.

    If necessary we cover hotel costs for all vehicle occupants until repair completion for up to a maximum of four nights. (Hotel category: max. 4 stars). Requirement: the breakdown site is more than 50 km from your place of residence.

  • Vehicle collection or return.

    If the repair takes longer than three days from arrival at the workshop, we cover the cost of collection or return (max. EUR 500) and organise this for you. Requirement: the breakdown site is more than 100 km from your place of residence.

  • Onward or homeward trip by rail or air.

    If necessary we cover the cost of your onward travel by rail or air (max. EUR 500).

  • Replacement vehicle.

    We cover the cost of an equivalent replacement vehicle² until completion of the repair. In Germany: up to a maximum of three business days plus weekend. Abroad: up to a maximum of five business days plus weekend.

¹Cost coverage does not apply to new tyres. Costs for additional services are only covered in the case of the car being equipped with tyres featuring run-flat technology in as far a replacement tyres are not available within 4 hours.

²Availability may vary depending on the region and situation. Terms and conditions of commercial car rental may involve restrictions in terms of travel destinations.
